My love for seascapes, landscapes, river views, plants and flowers is reflected in my paintings as can been seen on this website. I was born in Meppel, the Netherlands in 1939. Here I received my teaching degree. During my education I discovered my talents for drawing and painting. In 1977 I was offered the opportunity to take lessons by the artist Jan Gierveld in Almelo, the Netherlands. During a period of 10 years I received his guidance in painting with oil based paints. I also took etching classes for the next 7 years by artist Bart Falkman while I continued to paint at home in my studio. In 1991 I have started water coloring, also under guidance of Jan Gierveld. In that same period I also took classes in portrait drawing by artist Wim Harms. Next to these various courses I have read many books on the subjects of drawing and painting or watched instruction videos by different artist. I have participated in many competitions over the years and my art work has been nominated many times but also different prizes were won. I have organized a number of solo exhibitions in the past years. As a new step I now show you my art work through this website   I hope you have enjoyed watching my paintings.
